How Good is Pagely Hosting?
Our Official Pagely Hosting Review
Pagely is a Software-As-A-Service platform. There’s a lot to like about Pagely. The only issue I see with Pagely is that they are very niche-specific. If you fall within their niche, it’s not really an issue.
Best Features of Pagely Hosting
It’s not really fair to call Pagely a hosting service. They don’t even call themselves that. They call themselves a managed WordPress service.

Powered by Amazon
Everyone knows about Amazon. In fact, it bears no explanation. Seeing as how Pagely themselves are hosted by Amazon, customers can expect the same piece of mind from Pagely as if Amazon was their host.
The Ability to Customize Your Plan
At first look, it may appear that Pagely only has three plans. That’s not true. They have several other plans leading up to one where you can have four virtual private servers. What’s really nice about Pagely is that you don’t have to pick one of their predefined plans. They have a feature where you can completely customize your own plan with them.
The Pagely Promise – 100 Percent Uptime
Pagely promises 100 percent uptime. For any downtime that is ever experienced, they offer hosting credit. Seeing as how they’re hosted by Amazon, I haven’t seen anyone complain about downtime or having to get credit because of downtime.
Automatic Backups
Pagely will perform a backup of your website daily. With excellent network security, the fact that they host some of the largest enterprises on the planet, and being hosted on Amazon servers, customers can enjoy a piece of mind that their data will never be lost.
WordPress Support
This one goes without saying. Seeing as how Pagely is more of a WordPress management service rather than a hosting service, Pagely knows WordPress. They have an entire team of dedicated experts ready and willing to help you with any of your WordPress issues. For many people, it merely means getting started.
Unlimited Page Views/Visitors
Some hosting companies will limit you to a number of page views or visitors per month. That’s not all – there are even some WordPress management companies that will do the same thing. All across the board, we found that Pagely does not place a cap on page views or visitors. The way they put it is like this – why would anyone pay for that?
Downsides of Pagely Hosting
Pagely is lacking in several areas. They may have top-notch hosting and blazing speeds, but they can afford to step up their game as well.
Pagely Support Is Lacking
People don’t like the fact that Pagely doesn’t offer live chat support. Well, that’s not entirely true. Pagely does offer live chat support – but only if you’re willing to pay a minimum of $400 a month for a VPS plan. They don’t offer phone support – they clearly expect people to figure out the issue on their own first, before the contact support. They have a 24/7 ticketing support system and claim that they answer every inquiry within two hours. However, if you do have a VPS plan, live chat is available. Pagely loses credibility for this one – I understand some people may be paying more, but what makes their business any more important than mine? If Pagely can afford to offer live chat support services to some of the big players, then they can afford to offer live chat support services to smaller businesses as well.
No cPanel
This one comes as no surprise. Seeing as how Pagely is not a Web hosting company per se, there’s no reason they should offer a cPanel. However, they do offer an administrative panel of their own that helps you to do the one thing that they do – manage WordPress. From this panel, you’re able to log in and manage your WordPress site from their platform.
No Trial Period or Money Back Guarantee
It can be tough to determine if Pagely is right for you if they don’t offer a trial period or money-back guarantee. They expect payment upfront on Day One. They do give you the ability to talk to a sales team, but the sales team has one goal in mind – to get you to purchase a plan. The best sales team in the world would be unable to determine if Pagely is right for me. This provides a certain disconnect that can turn people off.
Inability to Purchase a Domain
This also does not come as a surprise. As a WordPress management service, they expect you to have a domain already in place. In other words, this is not for brand-new business owners who are just trying to get their feet wet. Pagely is for seasoned professionals who know what they want and know what they’re doing.
Bottom Line
Pagely is a fantastic service – if they can provide what you’re looking for. They are very niche specific and do not offer many of the freebies that you would expect from other hosting services such as advertising credits or website-building tools. If you have a website up and going, they will take it over to Pagely for you – but not necessarily for free. If you purchase one of their business plans, they will do it for free. Otherwise, they will charge $100 per website to bring over to Pagely for you.
