It’s always nice to see a Web hosting provider offer unlimited bandwidth and disk space. Although it is fairly common, it is not standard. Other Web hosting providers will charge you based on how much bandwidth and disk space you use. At least, you’ll never have users complaining that you exceeded your monthly bandwidth. When you move up to VPS hosting, they do place caps on both the bandwidth and disk space. However, they do offer generous amounts.

For shared hosting that starts off at $3.99, you sure do get your money’s worth. Beginning with the unlimited bandwidth and disk space as a feature, it’s always nice to see that they don’t skimp on other features just because you’re paying less. This includes weekly backups, a 99.9 percent uptime guarantee, and over 50 templates to choose from when building your website.

Free Domain Registration

Every single one of their plans comes with free domain name registration plus free renewal as long as you remain the customer. This is a premium feature not offered by many Web hosting providers.

Lot of 12 Plans to Choose from

Hosting24 as 12 hosting plans for you to choose from, eight of which are VPS hosting plans. Not all of them come with unlimited disk space or bandwidth. In fact, all of their VPS hosting plans have limits. However, considering that those limits are huge, it’s doubtful that you’ll encounter issues. In fact, the difference between the eight different VPS hosting plans is the amount of disk space and bandwidth you get. Starting with plan No. 1, you get 10GB of bandwidth and 1TB of disk space. With each subsequent plan, you get 10 more gigabytes of bandwidth in one more terabyte of disk space – all the way up to 80GB of bandwidth and 8TB of disk space. That’s more than enough for many people.

Not only do they have a 99.9 percent uptime guarantee, but they deliver. Many users report monitoring this metric themselves and finding out that it’s true.

Limited Support Options

Hosting24 has a live chat system, which is nice to see, but beyond an email and ticketing system, they don’t have much else. They don’t offer phone support, but the funny thing is, they offer support through fax. I can’t imagine that their fax support system gets bogged down from usage.

Only One Operating System to Choose from

Hosting24 only offers one operating system. They offer Linux, and not just any flavor of Linux – they offer CentOS. Although not a horrible choice, I wish I would’ve seen the choice between Windows and Linux. Unfortunately, Hosting24 does not offer this.

Their Professional Design Services Are Lacking

The professional design services offered by Hosting24 are severely lacking. They give you a template for you to fill out. When you’re done, you send the completed template to a professional web designer. What they do is take your template, design your website, and push it live. They don’t ask you if you’re OK with the design or how you might feel about it. They simply take your template at face value, give your website about two hours' worth of work, and then push it live. I would hardly call it “professional.”

Bottom Line

Hosting 24 does offer a reliable Web service. However, they are lacking in other areas. The ability to choose your offering system should be standard. Unlimited disk space and bandwidth should come standard with all plans. Above all else, they should offer phone support. Despite their shortcomings, if you are starting a brand-new website and could use the budget-friendly options offered by Hosting24, then they’re certainly worth looking into.
